Description
Pradollano is a Spanish town and hamlet in the municipality of Monachil in the province of Granada. It is located in the southeast part of the region of the Vega of Granada. Near this town are the core channels, and Pinos Genil, Guejar Sierra. With its 2,078 meters, it is the population center located at the highest altitude in Spain.
Pradollano is the only inhabited of the ski resort of Sierra Nevada, and where all the main services from this station. It has 4,500 seats and reaches hoteleras, receive 14,000 visitors a day.
Pradollano has the typical distribution of a village-street, where all the buildings swarm around a single track. This street is adapted to the steep slope with a typical high mountain path with several hairpin curves that divide the street into seven sections parallel to each other. At some points there are walkways that connect the various steps by sections of the road between them. Most of the buildings on the main road are hotels and apartment buildings.
In the main street plazas, located in the lower part of the town come together: Pradollano Square, and next to it in a slightly lower position the Plaza de Andalucia, the heart of the extension made for the World Ski Championships 1995 Alpine and actual center of life of the ski resort, where the lockers and from where the trail skiers
